This drum type microscope is unsigned by the maker. It is likely French, c. 1855. It measures about 12-inches in height as shown in the photos with a base diameter of 3¼-inches. The fine adjustment is of the continental type with the control located at the top of the limb. Within the drum portion is the concave mirror and an aperture disk to control the quantity of light. It came supplied with two eyepieces, a multi-component objective that is divisible for power change, a stage condenser, two stage clips, and the wood storage case. The case has fittings for a set of dissection tools, now missing.

The microscope came out of an estate located in Lancaster PA.
