The microscope came equipped with one of originally two eyepieces, three objectives numbered 0, 4, and 7, two glass compensator plates, the quartz wedge mounted on glass, a box of blank slides, and an interesting small set of prepared slides marked "R. Von Huene-Pasadena Cal" containing multiple specimens of thin sections of single crystals cut at a defined angle. {The slides are of later vintage than the microscope.}

The following was extracted from Die optischen instrumente der firma R. Fuess deren beschreibung, by Carl Leiss, Fuess, R., firm, Leipzig, 1899. The microscope made in 1908 is little changed from the one described in the extract except for the addition of a focusing arrangement for the Bertrand lens and modifications to the stage.
