microscope made by charles chevalier

This microscope is unsigned and likely dates near the mid-19th century. The country of origin of this instrument is unclear. It was purchased in Scotland. The microscope is supported on a folding tripod base. It focuses by manually moving the tube up and down. The fine adjustment is by micrometer screw located just above the tripod base within the scroll supports. The microscope is supplied with three separate triple-button objectives, one with a small Lieberkuhn attachment (shown); they are stored in the case in a compartment under the microscope.
